It helped me to help my clients discover the roots of their problems more easily and resolve their issues more quickly and thoroughly. I sometimes marvel together with them at their inner resources, their capacity to heal themselves. EMDR therapy allows people to develop increased trust in themselves, and a life of greater ease, authenticity, vitality and joy.

In addition to EMDR Therapy and talk therapy I incorporate other approaches: I sometimes utilize EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, an energy psychology that can rapidly shift self-defeating thoughts and feelings to more life-affirming ones. I also offer sandtray therapy, which is a powerful tool for self-discovery and growth. The process of creating a sandworld and reflecting upon it can profoundly shift your perspective on yourself and your world, which may allow you to manage life with more freedom and fulfillment.

I received a Masters Degree in psychology from Cal State Sonoma in 1978 and my Marriage and Family Therapist license in 1984. I began using EMDR Therapy in 1998 and became an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist in 2006.
In addition to working in private practice, I have experience with a diverse range of clients in a variety of community agencies and clinical settings. The positions I have held include clinician for Solano County Mental Health, clinical director for Community Treatment Center in Fairfield, Program manager of the counseling program at Parental Stress Service in Oakland, clinician for Yolo Family Service Agency and military and family life counselor at local and overseas military bases.
